Travel Information

We'd recommend arriving in the Kelowna or Vernon area on Friday, August 8th. Feel free to reach out if you need any help coordinating your travel plans.

Where to Stay

You should have already received communication from us on where you can stay. We have our family staying closeby at Pillar Lake Resort.

Shuttles at the end of the night will be taking guests back to Pillar Lake Resort, the Highland Motel, and the Best Western Premier Route 97 in Vernon. Please note only the last ride at the end of the night will go to the hotel in Vernon.

Things to Do

If you're staying in the Vernon area and looking to entertain yourself on Friday afternoon or Saturday morning here are some ideas!

  • Explore Okanagan Lake or Kalamalka LakeKalavida Surf Shop has stand-up paddle board and bike rentals.

  • Davison Orchards, think family-run farm, fresh seasonal produce, freshly baked pies, farm petting zoo, tractor tours, and fruit picking. 

  • Planet Bee has everything honey and bee related! Free mead tastings. 

  • Cedar and Soak has a cold plunge and infrared sauna. You can book private rooms. 

  • Kangaroo Creek Farm is a little further from Vernon towards Kelowna, but well worth the trip!

  • The Grey Canal Trail overlooks the Okanagan Lake and part of the city. 

  • BX Creek Trail is a shaded forest hike with creeks and waterfalls.

  • The Rail Trail is perfect for runners or biker. Lakeside, flat, gravel trail. Extends over 50km.
